Lapis Lazuli is gemstone straight out of fairy tales of the Arabian Nights: deepest blue with golden shining Pyrite inclusions which twinkle like little stars. Named after “lapis“, the Latin word for stone, and the Arabian for blue. Through the ages, lapis lazuli has been associated with power, wisdom, love, and a stimulant for psychic ability and has never lost its brilliance.
Created in layers by gluing different materials together to form a gemstone. The way a gemstone doublet works is that the lower, larger portion is made of a very inexpensive material. Usually a low quality or common gemstone like quartz, a synthetic stone like synthetic Sapphire or even glass.16 Φεβ 2017
